What is Azkadinya?

Azkadinya is a platform focused on empowering artisans and cultural traditions from SWANA (South-West Asia & North Africa). Our goal is to create an ongoing collaboration with likeminded individuals using different mediums, whether it be food/beverage, art, music etc. 

 

What is SWANA?

The Middle East is an outdated colonial term used to reference South-West Asia in regards to the West. One of our goals at Azkadinya is to decolonize the mind and using politically correct terms is a great first step towards fulfulling said goal. 

 

Why the emphasis on SWANA?

The multi-ethnic identities in SWANA have lost their way through the colonization and westernization of the region. As SWANA natives who have lived abroad, we have decided to put our energy into reclaiming the multi-ethnic identities through collaborative efforts.
